The 25th Annual Smith Memorial Golf Tournament
has been postponed until October 2021.
It was a very difficult decision for our board to make but, after thoroughly considering all of our options, we decided to take the most cautious approach to the potential risk that the COVID-19 pandemic poses to our golfers and tournament workers.
If we eliminated all contact at registration and before tee off, and held no indoor activities after golf (i.e., dinner, homemade desserts, prize table, etc.), it would not be the same enjoyable event we are so proud to hold each year. It would just be a lot of people golfing at the same time, and that is not the type of outing we want to run.
I am sure many of you are as disappointed as we are. But we think this is the right decision for the safety of all involved. Our plan is to celebrate our 25th Smith Memorial Golf Tournament in October 2021. We hope you can join us then.
In the meantime, the scholarship fund continues to help deserving students. Earlier this year, we awarded $21,000 in scholarships and grants to students attending Archbishop Ryan High School and a $5,000 scholarship to a rising senior at St. Joseph’s University. Without your generous support year-after-year these scholarships would not be possible. Thank you!
We ask that you consider donating to our scholarship fund this year. If you can help us continue our mission, please click HERE. Of course, your donation is tax deductible.
Thanks, again, for your continuing support and please stay safe.
